Membership FAQ
Why did YAG move from a one-time fee to a subscription?
The old model charged $20 once, at the moment you submitted an application. That worked for one conference, but it didn't scale to people who wanted to apply again, follow up on a waitlist decision, or stay connected between editions. A $2.99 monthly membership is a smaller ask up front, and it lets us keep supporting you for as long as you're part of the platform, not just for one submission.
What happens to the old $20 processing fee?
It's gone. New applications are no longer charged a separate processing fee. Submitting an application is included in your membership.
When am I billed, and can I cancel anytime?
You're billed $2.99 on the day you subscribe, then every month on that date until you cancel. You can cancel from your account settings at any time. Cancelling stops future renewals immediately; it does not retroactively refund the current billing period.
What happens to my application if my membership lapses?
An application you already submitted stays in the system and keeps moving through review. If your membership lapses before you submit a new application, you'll need an active membership to submit it. If you're accepted while lapsed, reactivating your membership does not affect a decision already made.
Is the $2.99 refundable?
Membership charges are handled the same way most monthly subscriptions are: non-refundable for the current period once billed, and you keep access through the end of the period you paid for even if you cancel partway through. If you're billed in error (for example, a duplicate charge), contact support@youthadvanceglobal.com and we'll make it right.
Is there an annual plan?
Not yet. We're evaluating an annual option, since a big share of a $2.99 charge otherwise goes to card processing fees rather than the program. If you'd prefer to pay yearly, tell us at support@youthadvanceglobal.com and we'll let you know when it's available.
Does membership affect sponsorship eligibility?
No. Membership covers your access to apply; sponsorship is a separate decision based on demonstrated financial need and the quality of your application, exactly as before.
